Come ogni anno, durante la San Diego Comic-Con si sono svolti gli Eisner Awards, quest’anno giunti alla 27esima edizione. A presentare i premi, oltre a Kayre Morrison e Anina Bennett, si sono avvicendate varie personalità di spicco, come l’attore nominato agli Oscar Edward James Olmos, Jill Thompson, Michael e Laura Allred.
Durante la serata sono stati anche celebrati i nuovi artisti entrati nella Hall of Fame Awards: la creatrice di Little Lulu Marjorie Henderson Buell, Bill Woggon, John Byrne, Chris Claremont, Denis Kitchen e Frank Miller.
